Rent Arrears

If you have difficulty paying rent contact your Housing Officer as soon as possible.

It is better that the problem is recognised early so that assistance can be given.

We understand tenants have other debts but if rents are not paid you will be in breach of your Tenancy Agreement and risk losing your home.

If payments fall behind and we have had no contact from you, we will write to you seeking the outstanding amount in arrears.

Fréamha Housing Association can offer useful information here if you are struggling to pay your rent.

A kitchen in an apartment.

We will also endeavour to reach a repayment agreement with you.

If arrears continue to accrue, if you break a previous agreement or do not communicate with the Housing Association then a home visit will be made.

If the situation does not improve, we have no choice but to issue a “Notice to Quit”. This is a legal document and is the first stage in the process of Fréamha Housing Association taking possession of your property.

Help is at hand if you are struggling to keep up with your rent payments so please contact your Housing Officer immediately on 074 91 77311 / 074 91 77756 or WhatsApp
